The cross dock model focuses on the turnaround time for breaking down large shipments to smaller ones or combining shipments for delivery within thirty-six hours. Transport Management

Transport Solution for consumer product

Movers devised and deployed a solution for a consumer products retailer which centralized transportation planning, shipment execution, tracking, carrier management, network monitoring, customer service and reporting at its Aurora, our network operations center, providing the client and its vendors a single point of contact for freight transportation services. The solution supports a retail environment where consumer goods shipments are time-sensitive and on-time, damage-free delivery is paramount. Leveraging a combination of dedicated and shared resources, the solution covers a full scope of planning and execution activities. The program is responsible for monthly scheduling and execution of 400 consumer goods shipments on average, managing five cross-dock operations with deconsolidation of finished goods loads from Manufacturing Companies and reconsolidation into outbound truckload shipments to 22 replenishment centers around the country.

Benefits delivered to the client include multi-million Rupees savings in transportation spend, a streamlined transportation management process with improved control and communication, and reduced overall shipment volumes through strategic consolidation and leverage of truckload resources, which reduced product damage and improved on-time delivery.
